Logistics of a Sail Greece Cruise

The process of creating your very own dream Odyssey takes some very careful planning in order for it to fulfill all your requirements.  The steps outlined below are the normal sequence of events that all boating enthusiasts proceed through in order to obtain a clear overview of what this journey entails.

  • Inquiry Process - Those wishing to find out more about our cruises email us using the form located under the Contact Us menu option on the main page.  This will allow us to answer your specific inquiries, as well as inform you of a few more details of the cruise.  We also ask a series of general questions, which allows us to make suggestions to accommodate your needs.

  • Response - Once you fill out our general questionnaire, we can offer some concrete suggestions about planning a cruise.  One of the main details is the type of cruise desired.

    • A "private cruise" ensures you have the entire yacht to yourself, along with your fortunate friends you have invited to come along, as well as our crew.  Sailing periods are dictated by you alone to accommodate your every desire.  Once the details have been worked out to your satisfaction, you then proceed to the next step.

    • A "share boat cruise" is one of our popular featured cruises.  This is the most popular type of cruise, assembling people from all over the world, to share 2 weeks together to experience the bliss of sailing the clear sparkling waters under the cloudless skies of Greece.  The advantage of having our crew as your guides is being able to draw on their vast knowledge of sailing the Greek Isles for 20 years.

    • A "bareboat cruise" will allow 2 qualified sailors (required) to charter and sail by themselves through the beautiful Greek Islands.  While this allows the maximum freedom, you may miss out on some of the best spots, known only by our competent skippers.

    • A "flotilla cruise", (again with two qualified sailors on each boat), allows enthusiasts who wish to exercise their sailing skills on their own, to be guided by our skippers to the best sights in the island group of your choice.

  • Booking Procedure - Once you have decided to commit to a type of cruise for a specific time period, you will then be required to pay a deposit, which will go to reserving your spot.  The deposit must be received  2 months prior to the planned departure date at a minimum.

  • Flights - You will have to arrange flights through your own travel agent of your choice.  Depending on your travel plans, you may also want to spend a few days to see Athens itself before your cruise.  If this is the case, you should ask your travel agent to arrange for a hotel, close to the major sights in Athens. If you want to make the arrangements yourself, we recommend the guide book, The Greek Islands, ISBN 0-7894-9425-6.  We also provide tours to all of the major sights in Athens, and these can be arranged with us to guide you on a journey through Greece past and present.

  • Departure for Cruise - We normally depart from Athens for most cruises or a location within the group of islands you will be cruising.

  • Land Tours - Additional land tours may be arranged for before or after the cruise.
